Welcome Back!

Welcome back to Leeds for another academic year! It was good to see so many of you sign up and show interest in our society at the freshers fair last week from all difference subject areas. For those who don’t know, we’re an academic neuroscience society aimed at spreading current findings from neuroscience. We aim to run talks, debates, trips to BNA conferences throughout the academic year for anyone with an interest in the brain to get involved with. More information about who we are can be found on our about page and the committee page as well as our social media as they are updated throughout the year.

Here’s a quick run down of the events we’re planning on putting on with guest speakers from different disciplines:

Philosophy of The Mind: I Think Therefore I Am?

There will be two amazing speakers for this session:
– Prof. Mark Mon-Williams will talk about the Philosophy of the Mind from a psychological point of view.
– And Marc Cole will give us the philosophical point of view.

To Weed or Not To Weed? (Give It A Go event)
24/10 @ 6:30pm, Baines Wing 2.06
NB: This is our free GIAG event where we’ll have some speakers on both sides of the debate of cannabis science and its effects on the brain and then we’ll get a debate going to encourage people to talk about their own opinions and whether they’ve learn anything new or surprising.
